Volunteers
With Thanks to So Many
Since 1977, Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has been touching lives. It is overwhelming to realize how many of the elderly and their families have placed their trust in us.
Likewise, it is overwhelming to realize how many exceptional people … both in the past and in the present … have devoted themselves to our mission. So much gratitude goes to our staff of volunteers for helping make this facility one of the most unique and finest long-term residential and short-term rehabilitation centers in the country.
Without the help of our numerous volunteers we would not be the organization we are today.
Opportunities
At Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center we are always in need of dedicated volunteers.
There are many ways to volunteer. If you are able to help at facility, we could use your help in the following ways:
- Transporter: Help residents in wheelchairs get from their rooms to appointments and events within our facility, such as trips to our in-house beautician, church services, or special events. Many of these functions are held in our activity room or main dining room.
- Friendly Visitors: Spend time with residents. Some of our residents would greatly benefit from having someone to talk to. Often they have few or no regular visitors. You will quickly become a valued friend.
- Clerical: Complete clerical tasks as needed.
- Special Skills: Do you sing or play an instrument? We need volunteers for our musical programs.
- Other Departments: Find your niche! Do you love to fold laundry? Do you have an aptitude with computers? Do you love to call bingo? Whatever you enjoy, we have something you could do make our residents’ lives more meaningful.
You can also donate your services to our facility from the comfort of your own home. We are always in need of lap robes, walker baskets, tennis balls and other supplies.
If you would like to join our staff of dedicated volunteers or donate supplies, please call our Volunteer Coordinator today at 370-4700!
